Counterproliferation Training
With more than 30 independent training programs and more than 400 course modules, we offer the most extensive counterproliferation training curriculum available.
WSG provides realistic operational training to military units and federal organizations chartered with conducting pre-attack counterproliferation operations. The pre-attack continuum includes all WMD activities from enemy research to stopping a terrorist from delivering a weapon to a target. WSG training is suited for both domestic and internationally-focused U.S. Government customers, with an intense focus on actions at known or suspected WMD sites and related facilities. This includes securing a potentially contaminated facility or vessel, under hostile or contested conditions, as well as site survey and exploitation prioritization, agent detection and sampling, packaging and transporting hazardous materials and neutralization and destruction.
Offensive/elimination and interdiction training may include armed high-risk operations at clandestine production facilities, securing materials that are en route to the U.S., stopping the physical delivery of a device to a target once inside the U.S. and related post-interdiction safety and technical activities. We can also design custom courses to meet a client’s unique requirements.
All of our training programs are designed and taught by instructors who have direct experience planning and conducting counterproliferation operations. We continue to expand our dedicated effort to integrate the brightest persons in science and technology with experienced intelligence officers and military operations personnel to develop and maintain the best counterproliferation training programs and courses available anywhere in the world.
Technical Courses to Combat the Use of WMD
WSG offers a wide variety of courses that prepare personnel to participate in or support counterproliferation operations. Technical course participants include counterproliferation operations personnel and collectors, analysts, targeteers, managers, planners and other direct support personnel. WSG’s technical courses provide personnel with the essential scientific and technical background to conduct counterproliferation duties. The technical courses also prepare personnel to participate in operational training including collection, exploitation and sampling; target defeat and destruction; and counterproliferation human intelligence (HUMINT) operations.
Target Exploitation, Collection, and Sampling Operations (TSE/SSE/SSA)
These courses and programs are designed for personnel that conduct target exploitation, collection and sampling operations. They include a combination of didactic instruction and practical exercises, with detailed instruction on the proper use of scientific, technical and operational tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) against counterproliferation targets that require detailed exploitation and collection. During sampling operations, students learn the proper techniques for collecting forensic evidence in a tactical or operational environment. Basic courses cover fundamental TTPs in a permissive environment. Intermediate and advanced courses and programs emphasize an integrated approach to complex counterproliferation targets, including those located in semi-permissive, hostile and contested areas.
Counterproliferation Target Disablement and Destruction
WSG offers specialized training in chemical and biological agent and laboratory disablement and destruction. This includes using field-expedient methods and concepts to neutralize and defeat chemical and biological agents. A key component of training is learning how to render critical equipment inoperable during post-sampling and exploitation operations to deny the enemy the capability to recover, use or remove desired materials if the target/site must be abandoned.
Counterproliferation HUMINT Operations
WSG offers HUMINT training specifically designed for personnel and teams conducting counterproliferation operations to combat the use of WMD. These specialized training programs are suited for personnel that will be conducting operations in both strategic and tactical environments. Training ranges from one-week programs designed to train personnel to extract timely and accurate information and actionable intelligence from captured individuals to extended programs to conduct controlled operations with strategic objectives in permissive and non-permissive environments.
