Research & Development
WSG provides specialized Research, Development, Testing & Evaluation services (RDT&E) to ensure the U.S. maintains technological superiority over persons, groups and states seeking to acquire and use WMD. We use innovative research that cohesively integrates science and technology with military and intelligence operations processes, tactics, techniques and procedures. We develop new technology and operationalize new and current technologies to be used by the U.S. Government and military forces to combat and prevent the use of WMD against the United States.
Services offered include:
• Independent and joint R&D to implement recommendations noted by the U.S. military, Congress and policymakers to rectify current and anticipated technology capability shortfalls
• Collaborative R&D with the U.S. Government through Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs) to speed new and emerging software technologies to field personnel and teams tasked with preventing the use of WMD
• Collaborative R&D through partnerships with academia supporting critical technological and engineering segments through WSG-funded preliminary and independent research as well as the Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program
• Testing and evaluation of a variety of counterproliferation projects including third-party independent evaluations
Current and ongoing research & development projects:
• Through cooperative research with the Naval Postgraduate School design, develop and test specialized software to allow military and police the capability to forensically search computers and electronic devices for keywords and terms associated with chemical and biological weapons even if those terms have been deleted or hidden. The end product will allow field personnel to obtain preliminary results in seconds or minutes versus the current process where field analysis is not conducted unless by a trained computer forensics technician.
• Develop tactics, techniques, and procedures to enhance the personal security of US Government personnel deployed worldwide
• Develop tactics, techniques, and procedures to enhance the ability of field personnel to prevent the use of WMD
