Counterproliferation Training, Exercise and Mission Rehearsal Facilities
Challenge
Government personnel chartered with counterproliferation operations lacked appropriate training facilities to conduct realistic training, exercises and mission rehearsals. The majority of existing training facilities were static and caused personnel to go repeatedly through the same scenarios and targets. These training areas were losing their effectiveness to support operational forces because they did not accurately represent the constantly-changing capabilities of organizations and states seeking WMD. Finally, many training sites were located far from the Washington, DC, metropolitan area and therefore were not practical for ongoing skills enhancement or regular sustainment training.
Solution
WSG developed the largest and most comprehensive private counterproliferation training, exercise and mission rehearsal facilities available to support the U.S. government. WSG designed, planned and constructed specialized facilities that support strategic, operational and tactical counterproliferation operations. WSG’s comprehensive solution includes a state-of-the-art training center headquartered in Northern Virginia as well as additional specialized training facilities throughout the United States. In addition, WSG has mobile capabilities to develop training and exercise targets in realistic urban and rural settings within the United States. WSG’s solution includes a comprehensive approach to modifying targets and scenarios to meet the challenges of government requirements and operational units, as well as to respond to the emerging threats and actions of our enemies. Scheduled and ad hoc targets, scenarios and plans/layouts are conducted to constantly challenge participants to perform at the highest operational levels.
Results
WSG training, exercise and mission rehearsal facilities have significantly improved national security by preparing personnel performing critical counterproliferation operational and support functions. Training centers located near the nation’s capital are highly convenient for military and federal agencies with counterproliferation missions. WSG’s solution reduces travel time, training costs and operational tempo while increasing on-site training time, mission capability and operational success.
